“When your mind says “Forget them” but your heart knows that you can’t.”
It was already midnight. Lights were off. No more noise from the neighborhood.
“Can I talk to you for a while?”
He talked to her like nothing happened. Just like that, he had her again. She thought that she already forgot about him a long time ago.
It was an unexplainable moment. She’s okay now, until he said “Hi” again.
It took her some time to forget about what he did to her, the pain and the wound he left. She’s in a process of recovery. She’s healing. She’s getting there.
But one phone call changed her mind and heart again.
“Sure. What is it? Do you have a problem?”
There she goes again. She’s being too kind again, like nothing happened. The girl who is always there for him. The only constant person in his life.
“I don’t know what to do anymore. My life is a mess.” He said.
She doesn’t want to entertain him anymore because she knows her worth. But because of his line, when he said he’s a mess, all she at least wanted to do is to run over at his place and hug him. But she can’t, she wouldn’t do it.
“It’s normal to experience things like that. It’s normal to feel that kind of sadness. Everyone’s a mess, actually.” She said.
“How could you say that? You’re not a mess. I’m the one who’s a mess.” He replied.
“You do not know everything, dear. Everyone you meet in this world is a mess, well, maybe not a big mess. Let’s just say that people have their own kind of mess.” She answered him with sincerity.
A sudden silence came. 1 second.. 2 seconds, 3.. 4.. 5 seconds.
“I miss you.”
“I miss you too.”
